The colours contrast with the bigger part of nature (trees, dirt, sky) but match the small details of it (fruit, dried leaves, grass). The shapes are a mix of the shadows that come from sunlight through trees/leaves and the natural non-linear topography ‘curves’ that reflect Beechworth.
